Job Title: Upper Strings teachers of Violin/ Viola
Lower Strings teachers of Cello/Double Bass
Hours: Full time and part time posts are available

Salary: Dependent upon experience and qualification based on Teachers’ Pay Scale (MPS or UPS) /Unqualified Teachers’ Pay Scale
We wish to appoint outstanding teachers and musicians to these posts, which will involve individual instrumental teaching at all ages.
Duties and responsibilities: dependent on experience and qualifications these could include:
• Instrumental teaching ( beginner – Grade 8 and beyond)
• Whole Class Instrumental tuition (Wider opportunities)
• Coaching/direction borough of string ensembles
• Coaching chamber music
Desirable skills:
• Ability to offer high level organisational skills to support events and projects
• Ability to provide high level communications with colleagues and customers
Some evening and weekend work will be required and the ability to travel between schools and other venues is essential.

Solihull Music Service provides a highly progressive system of string ensembles. The advanced string orchestra recently reached the national finals of the National Festival of Music for Youth and the chamber music programme has been recognized as an outstanding feature of the service, offering high quality coaching and performance experience for Gifted and Talented young string players.
Strings Wider Opportunities programmes in Solihull are team taught with two string specialists from SMS working alongside the class teacher. The quality of our programmes has been endorsed by European String Teachers Association. Solihull Music Service has recently presented at two national E.S.T.A conferences due to the interest these successful and innovative programmes have generated.
